2026 Subscription Costs
Our 2026 Player costs are separated into two parts SUHC Subscription + HockeyNZ Affiliation fee.
SUHC Subs include: Canterbury Hockey Association (CHA) affiliation fees, CHA Match Fees, Turf Hire, and Practice Fees. Southern United Club costs – including uniform and equipment replacement and other costs associated with running the club.

Hockey NZ Affiliation Fees: these fees are collected by HockeyNZ to support the overall delivery and administration of Hockey throughout Aotearoa. These fees are paid once per year and are collected through PlayHQ.

General Information:
Registrations and payments will be managed via Play HQ. Senior Players will receive a link to register from their team manager once team selections are completed.
Junior Players parents can go here for junior registrations.
SUHC Subs are calculated on the cost of being a member of the team players have been selected for. We no longer offer a tertiary or secondary player rate, If this is a genuine barrier for you or your family, please reach out for a conversation.
Payment Options:
Option 1 - Credit Card - on the last page of registration please select the grade you are registering for (from the dropdown box) and complete with credit card payment. If you are registering more than one person, each registration is a separate transaction in PlayHQ.
Option 2 - Credit Card Instalments (New for 2026) – this is a new feature in PlayHQ and enables you to pay your registration in instalments up to the 28th of June 2026. 50% paid at registration - Remaining balance over 3 months (March registrations) or 2 months (April registrations) - $1.50 PlayHQ instalment fee applies. If you defer payment, PlayHQ will send automated reminder emails Please ensure that you have both PlayHQ and SUHC as “Safe Senders” in your email settings as sometimes these can end up in your “Junk” or “Spam” folders. This feature defers the player registration fees for SUHC only, not the Hockey NZ Affiliation fee.
Option 3 - Internet Banking – this option has $0.00 value in PlayHQ so you will need to pay the relevant amount for your grade directly to the SUHC Bank account: 03-0855-0393954-00. Please use your surname, first name and grade as reference.
Option 4 - Payment Plan – this option has $0.00 value in PlayHQ - we acknowledge that the current economic climate is making it harder to pay subscriptions up front, with this in mind we are offering a payment plan option again this year. If you select this option, please email treasurer@suhc.co.nz to set up your payment plan at the time of registration.
Volunteer Coaching & SUHC Committee Rebate: SUHC club runs on willing volunteers! our coaches receive a thank you rebate equal to one player in the team they coach (or 1/2 player if co-coaching), if you would like to offset the cost of subs and receive a rebate at the end of the season, please consider volunteering to coach or discuss joining the SUHC committee!
Non Payment
Players with outstanding subs from last season will not be allowed to play for Southern United until a payment plan is agreed and will not be able to transfer to another club until paid in full.
Please note there will be a $50.00 administrative fee added to any accounts that remain unpaid by the 30th of June 2026 unless arrangements have been made with the treasurer.
