Southern is the family you get to choose, and with a team in every grade we welcome new players, who align with our values, with arms wide open. Whether you are new to the sport, or an experienced veteran of the great game... we have a position for you.

A full list of the senior grade descriptions and player progression pathways can be found on the CHA Website.

We generally enter teams into all grades, and we will work with you to find a team that suits your skills and aspirations.

Junior Registration (players up to and including YR8) information can be found here.  Junior players are registered via Play HQ and sorted into teams based on age.

Platinum Registration (High School age) information can be found here.  Platinum players must register to trial, and then will be selected into teams based on ability.  Players will then be requested to register for their team, via Play HQ, by their team manager.

Senior Registration (Year 11 to Adult) information can be found here.  Senior players must register for trials and selection.  Some teams require compulsory trials in order to be selected (CPL, Div1, Div2), some grades can be entered by request (eg MWO2 & 3, Grass).  Senior teams will be selected based on ability and players will be offered a position in a squad & invited to register for their respective teams, via Play HQ, by their team manager.

Summer Masters Players (women age 30+, men aged 35+).  The Summer Masters competition is a CHA run competition, open to self-selected/self-managed teams, and does not require you to be registered with a club.  SUHC has a strong contingent of players who regularly enter teams & we are happy to connect you with a player group if interested - just get in contact with us.

Summer Hockey (various ages). CHA offer a non-club affiliated, self-selected, self-managed summer hockey programme.  Details are usually advertised on CHA social media and SUHC players are encouraged to form their own teams to compete at their level.

We look forward to you being part of the Southern United Family.
