The Premier Reserve Men's Team is our next ranked team, from the top, that competes in the Canterbury Division One Grade. The team trains once a week, with training slots to be confirmed and for 2019 will compete on a Saturday afternoon.
Players can be Year 11 and above Secondary School Students, University Students and Adults. The make up of the 2018 team was a mix of Adults, University Students and Secondary Students. We also run our Rookie Programme in this grade for selected Secondary School Students as part of their Individual Development Plans in preparation for playing Premier Hockey.
Players should display high levels of hockey ability, hockey IQ and fitness with some areas for development. Personal accountability and commitment to the team and club is expected by way of attendance at trainings and games, making themselves available for South Island Super Six, "giving back" to the club in the form of coaching, mentoring or umpiring (but is not mandatory) and supporting club events and fundraisers. Players from time to time, maybe required to fill up into the Premier Men's Team (within the competition restrictions).
Pre season Fitness, Strength and Conditioning starts in December, managed by a personal trainer, through to the beginning of trials in Mid Feb.
